This morning as Tracy and I were having devotions, we discussed the issue or “real prayer.” I don’t know about you, but I shared that sometimes (if not many times) my prayers seemed really selfish. ”Lord, touch me, give me, guide me, strengthen me, let me, speak to me, do in me, …….” See the main theme? Instead, it’s my goal to simply “be” before the Lord and allow myself to see the reality of God.
Lloyd Ogilvie says it best, “God has more prepared for us than we are prepared to ask.”
I am convinced (more than ever before) that the thing God wants from us, more than any other thing, is our daily, unedited and unbridled response to God’s unconditional love. By doing this, Jesus will become the primary object of our affection!
