Invest Wisely

As parents there are times when investing in someone other than yourself can be difficult.  Tracy and I have always placed a priority on investing in our girls…even when it was difficult.  The scripture speaks to the issue of the process of sowing and reaping.  It’s simply impossible to expect anything in return without first making the deposit.  In our case, we have enjoyed “reaping” the benefits as we are now watching our girls become all that God has planned for them.  Amanda is a junior at the University of Michigan (in Flint) studying social work.  She has a great love for children and will one day make a huge difference in our world through her “investment” in many children…perhaps across the globe.  Don’t ever forget, the investments (deposits) you make today, will “mature” tomorrow!

Although Thursday is a special day to give “thanks,” today is a special day in our home!  It’s Ani’s birthday! Fifteen years ago today Tracy and I were the most fortunate people in the world to welcome Ani into our lives….and she’s been a joy ever since.  It was (and always will be) the most special Thanksgiving Day we have had.  Isaiah 9:6 says, “For to us a child is born.” What a great illustration of how God works.  As He (God) gave Jesus to the world, He gave Ani to us.  Trusting us enough to love, provide, encourage, and discipline her…and watch her grow into what He has planned (an incredible young lady)!  We can see God’s goodness and faithfulness in all our girls!  God is good…and He never fails.  Give Him a try…you’ll never regret it!
