The scripture teaches us that we are to “be still and know the He is God.”  Unfortunately, in our fast paced world, we often don’t do very well in this area. Living in a world that honors achievement/accomplishments/busyness, it’s hard to really know how to “be still.”  This weekend, I made a point to go up north (as the locals in Michigan call it…this Florida boy thought he was already up north?) with a friend to his lake-house. Just a couple of days to give myself permission to “be still.”   O.K….maybe not everyone needs to take such extreme measures to accomplish this, but for me, it sure helped!  Take time today to get away…take all the noise out of your life…and listen for the voice of God.  Perhaps we don’t hear His voice because we don’t listen because we are so busy? Just a thought!
